Orleans Ford: We put together this buyers guide for Truck Shoppers in the Medina and Batavia, NY Region. Both the Raptor and the RHO are fairly easy to spec. Aside from the higher-performance variants, the Raptor comes as a SuperCrew short-bed truck with one engine/transmission combination and 4-wheel drive (4WD). It was the truck that started the Baja racer-style subcategory and is known for its amazing poise at speed over bumps and whoops. When it comes to build combinations, the Ram RHO has the same simplicity as the Raptor: One body style, one engine, and a whole lot of fun. We’ve raved about the Ram 1500’s supple ride and high-quality cabin appointments. Is that, plus the high-speed off-road treatment, enough to overcome the Ford F-150 Raptor? If you want to Test Drive the 2025 Ford Raptor call our Ford Dealership Sales Staff at 585-268-1050

Ford F-150 Raptor Highlights

Twin-turbo V6: The Raptor is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 that produces 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. Four-wheel drive is standard. The engine’s response is quick, and the power is mighty. The Ford F-150 Raptor has 8,200 pounds of towing capacity.

Infotainment: Ford did its homework when updating the 12-inch touchscreen now found on every F-150. This screen is intuitive, serves as the control center for Sync 4, and includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features over-the-air updates and advanced voice recognition.

Raptor R: There are three levels of Raptor. The Raptor 37 package adds extra off-road gear, but the Raptor R package is the top dog here. The Ford F-150 Raptor R comes with an awesome supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that sends 720 hp to all four wheels. Keep in mind that this is part of an equipment group that costs about $32,000 extra.

Ride quality: Knowing what this truck is built for, you might not believe that the Raptor (and Raptor R) is comfortable in all types of everyday driving situations. However, thanks to the suspension tuning aimed at high-speed travel off-road, the Raptor has a nicely compliant ride on nearly any terrain. Yes, the truck is lifted, so getting in or out may be a little challenging. All in all, the suspension of the Ford F-150 Raptor is very impressive.

Ram 1500 RHO Highlights

Bang for the buck: Pardon the cliche but it’s appropriate here. If you’re looking for a high-speed dirt machine, the Ram 1500 RHO offers a lot of value for the money. Right off the bat, the RHO boasts a lower starting price than the Raptor — by nearly $10,000. For that price, it has more horsepower, more torque, and more towing and payload capacity. Keep in mind that some of the features in the RHO’s $9,995 Level 1 Equipment Group come standard on the Raptor. When comparing the list of features for the price, that could bring the prices closer to equal.

Turbocharged engine: The RHO is powered by a potent twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine. How potent? This inline-6 produces 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque, which is more than the Raptor. The RHO has a maximum towing capacity of 8,380 pounds.

Upscale interior: Ram is known for its excellent interior design, and the RHO’s cabin is a fine example of a classy and luxurious Ram truck cabin. The RHO’s interior is upscale, functional, and rugged.

Suspension setup: The independent front/5-link rear suspension works with coil springs and active damping shocks to allow for quick adjustments to changing terrain, resulting in excellent performance off-road and a comfortable ride on-road.

UConnect infotainment: Like the Ford F-150, the 1500 RHO is equipped with one of our favorite infotainment systems. The RHO uses Uconnect 5, which runs through a 14.5-inch touchscreen. There’s also a 10.25-inch screen just for the front passenger. The main screen is easy to navigate while driving and has especially large and clear menus.
